Rajinikanth clarified, "It is my habit to touch the feet of Yogis or Sanyasis and take their blessings, even if they are younger than me. I have done that only." The intention behind his action was rooted in his cultural beliefs and reverence for spiritual figures.

In addition to addressing the controversy, Rajinikanth expressed gratitude to his fans and the audience for the tremendous success of his recent movie, "Jailer." When asked about his potential involvement in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he opted to remain mum on the political front.

During his visit to Uttar Pradesh, Rajinikanth held a special screening of "Jailer," which was attended by UP Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya. He also had a meeting with Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav at his residence, engaging in discussions that extended beyond the cinematic world.

The video of Rajinikanth's meeting with CM Yogi Adityanath showed the actor greeting the Chief Minister with a namaste before touching his feet and presenting him with a flower bouquet. The images and footage from the meeting gained considerable attention on social media platforms, sparking debates and discussions.

While some critics raised concerns about the gesture, others defended Rajinikanth, viewing it as an act of respect for Yogi Adityanath's spiritual role as the head of the Gorakhnath Math.

Rajinikanth's latest movie, "Jailer," has achieved remarkable success at the box office, crossing the impressive mark of Rs 5 billion in global earnings within just 11 days of its release.
